Hiding Places

Inspired by distant childhood memories of a protected world, my work is seeking to reconstruct the feeling of protected spaces in the reality of the demanding and stressful contemporary world. As an adult person, I’m aware that the contact with reality is unavoidable and hiding in a small box is grotesque, therefore I am looking for a conceptual expression of my desire to escape the routine of the daily life. Fantasy and inner imaginable world are the best protected space for us. For this reason I have created a soft, warm and pleasant object as a visual metaphor of an ideal hiding space. I have chosen to use feather as a principal material for my work. Feather is a symbol of our eternal desire to fly and to be free and a witness of the most intimate dreams, covering and keeping us warm in the night.

2017. Feathers, steel.
